Lexus cars are basically the flagship luxury cars that are made by Toyota. Among luxury cars, Lexus actually boasts the most sales, and outsells each of its luxury car competitors each year. Lexus cars are actually sold all over the world with sales occurring in Latin America, North America, Africa, Europe, Oceania, the Middle East, and Asia. These cars are viewed as some of the most reliable, safe, and luxurious cars that are sold. The motto held by Lexus is "The Pursuit of Perfection," and, truly, Lexus has achieved the perfection that they have been striving to achieve.

History

The first Lexus car was actually debuted in 1989, and since then, the cars have been a favorite among luxury cars. Far before the debut of the first Lexus, the executives at Toyota were trying to figure out a way to come up with a luxury car that would reach for the stars and become the most popular luxury car ever. Eventually, the name Lexus was chosen and although LexisNexis tried to keep them from using the Lexus name, they were permitted to go ahead and use the name that they had come up with.

It was the Lexus LS 400 that was the first Lexus to debut, and it was the result of years of labor and over a billion dollars that had been spent on this endeavor. The car actually first debuted in Detroit, at the North American International Auto Show and was a success, which led to it also being launched in other countries, which included Canada, the UK, Australia, and Switzerland. Since the initial debut, Lexus has grown to be the top luxury car ever sold in the U.S. and they have developed many other styles and models of cars that are known for their smooth and quiet ride, as well as their luxurious interiors and innovative designs.

Car Models Available

Lexus has a variety of different models that are now sold and they include the IS, ES, GS, LS, SC, RX, GX, and LX. The Lexus IS is basically the entry level vehicle among the Lexus luxury vehicles. It comes in both a 4-door sedan and a 5-door station wagon and it comes in both rear wheel drive and four wheel drive. The Lexus ES is a mid-size luxury car that is four wheel drive and comes in a four door sedan. This is a sleek looking car that has plenty of power in the V6 engine that is used.

The Lexus GS is Lexus mid-size sports sedan that comes in both four wheel drive and rear wheel drive. It is a four door sports sedan that brings luxury together with the features of a sports car. The Lexus LS is a full size rear wheel drive luxury sedan that is the most popular car that is made by Lexus. With a sleek exterior and a luxurious interior, it is no wonder that this car has made Lexus the number one luxury car in the United States.

The Lexus SC is the two door luxury convertible that is sold by Lexus. This car is exciting to drive and has a powerful engine that gives you great pickup speed and all the luxury that you have come to expect from Lexus. The Lexus RX has come to be known as what is called a crossover car, which is a mix between a car and a SUV. This is a four door vehicle that was the first crossover SUV ever to be manufactured.

The Lexus GX is mid-size SUV that comes with all the luxury that that Lexus vehicles afford. This SUV has won a variety of awards and is a dream to drive. The Lexus LX is the largest vehicle made by Lexus and is their full size SUV. This vehicle is very similar to the Toyota Landcruiser, but sports more luxury and added features.

The Future

Lexus is now moving to the future with their luxury vehicles and has actually recently announced that they will be producing a new division, called the F-Series, which will be a performance car. This car that they will be introducing in the near future will be totally inspired by race cars, but will bring together racing cars and luxury to make an excellent performance vehicle. Lexus is also working on hybrid vehicles as well, and although they already have them, they are working to make them more technologically advanced and more customer friendly. There is no doubt that Lexus has a bright future ahead as they continue to work to keep their reputation for excellence.
