The 2009 Mycar from Nice is an all-electric car or a Ev (electric-vehicle), some call it stylish others not so stylish. To some it looks like it's about to tip over. However, it is designed like most electric cars to first conserve on energy by it's compact size but yet give headroom for the taller people wishing to go "green." It is built in Hong Kong but it was on the designs developed by the Italian Giugiaro of Italdesign and on sale at the NICE Car Company in London.
It's price range is 8,995 dollars Euro dollars which at the time of this article is estimated at $11,857.21 United States dollars. And it comes with a two year warranty.This car is designed for the city so it only goes forty miles per hour and has only a range of forty miles before it needs to be re-charged in six to eight hours.
It made it's global debut at the British International Motor show on July 22, 2008; where there will be three versions being introduced. It is a two seater with the option package that includes a removable roof. In spite of it's small size it still has ample room for storage under the bonnet, in the trunk and the glove compartment. It is available in seven colors.
Since there is not any emissions it does not have a tail pipe. Standard equipment on the MyCar is mirrors, electric windows, radio and MP3 player, remote central locking, 14 or 15 inch Alloy tires, Hi and Lo and boost button along with a multifunction LCD display. It has a leather interior with seats that can be cooled or heated.
There are some new features that are of interest. If you fold the passenger seat forward there is a laptop dock as well as bluetooth, upgraded audio and satellite navigation. This car is made from fiberglass, reinforced plastic over a steel tubular space frame that has a roll-bar. It is equipped with disc brakes and front and rear suspension.
Nice stands by the claim that the EV's running costs are very low about one fifteenth of the conventional gas or diesel run models. And since there is not any CO2 emissions that means that there there is not a road tax and no congestion charges at least in the United Kingdom. That also means
that MyCar is exempt from the congestion charge and there are parking concessions made available in many of London's boroughs and in other parts of the United Kingdom like free parking. When there are more on the street charging points, this will increase the car's appeal even further.
The three versions of the MyCar is the Mega City two seater; this two seater has been designed for commercial use all the while it is practical and comfortable. This car qualifies for one hundred percent first year allowance and the VAT can be reclaimed by the corporate buyers.
