2009 LOTUS 2-11

The 2009 LOTUS 2-11 is the ultimate in a racecar. It easily provides all of the features that would possibly be dreamed of by the most discriminating driver or sports car enthusiast. Should you take it out for a spin?

Absolutely, there is no question about this idea, because this is the only way to experience the pleasures of this wonderful new vehicle. Is it highly likely that you will see this beauty cruising through your own town? Possible, but not probable… because this supercharged vehicle is going to have a low production limit and is made to hit the racetracks not the streets and highways. These Lotus vehicles will have an extremely limited and exclusive availability, but you really need to treat yourself to a look at the great new addition to the Lotus family.

Just check out the high visibility of the dynamic color scheme on these track sharks. You can choose green and silver or black and silver and then get the yellow and silver decals to add that 3rd element of color magic. The cars also come in orange and black or yellow and black and these vehicles have silver and black decals to give your model a little extra flair on the track. These snazzy flashes of color add to the car’s look of pure, unadulterated speed.

The new 2009 Lotus 2-Eleven has something for everyone and it is a startling combination of muscle, computerized technology, and sleek beauty. The performance capability of the machine is raw perfection at its very finest. The technology has left nothing to chance and is a once in a lifetime opportunity for drivers and passengers to truly live in the moment and be one with an incredible automotive machine.

This is one of the cars that proudly displays the best of Lotus design and ingenuity while maintaining those qualities that make this company legendary in the automotive field. The 2-11 packages it all; racecar style performance and power; top quality ride and handling; and all of the safety and unique details that are expected to be found in both the Elise and the Exige.

The racecar is equipped with wishbone suspension and has rollover construction built in.  There is a 6-point racing harness as well as an onboard fire extinguisher. The lightweight aluminum bonded chassis is very typical of most Lotus racing vehicles and is a variation of the Elise chassis. The rear wing spoiler is completely adjustable and is made of pure carbon fibers and there is a shower cover included for the cockpit. These cars will easily start at one touch of the electronic starter button.

This car is impressive with its 1477 pounds of weight and will provide 252 HP at 8000 rpm. There has been an addition to the Lotus electronic engine management system that makes it perform even better. The transmission has also been enhanced and can now provide variable traction handling and control for the driver.  Amazingly, the transmission is a Toyota C64 transaxle 6-speed model that includes the close- ratio and constant mesh of the helical gears. The car can deliver a top speed in 5th gear between 50 and 70 mph.

The engine for the Lotus 2-11 is a supercharged 2ZZ GE 1.8 L, 1796cc engine that can crank out any amount of power that may be needed. The torque that is produced is 179 lb/ft at 7000 rpm. The construction of the engine is formed from aluminum and metal matrix composites that give it versatility and a supremely lightweight. There is an air-to-air intercooler that is rear mounted with a twin ducting system. The sequential, multi-point fuel injection system is first class when it comes to delivering power. There is even an exhaust system that is non- catalytic in nature.

The braking system has stainless steel braided hoses from Goodrich; twin oppositional piston style AP  racing calipers for the front wheels, and a 4 channel ABS that is Servo assisted and track tuned. Racing specific front and rear brake pads are also included and the rotors are 280 mm ventilated, cross-drilled models created for speed and performance for all of the vehicles.

When you take all of these statistics into account you can quickly notice that power/weight ratio of this vehicle is easily comparable to a Formula One racing car from the 60s. In other words, you really do need both a driver’s license and a pilot’s license to experience all that this car has to deliver.

This car can go from 0-60 in less than 4 seconds and from 0-100 in less than 9 seconds. A standing start for the quarter mile mark takes the Lotus 211 only 12.2 seconds. While top speed is listed at 150mph, no one will doubt that this car can do that benchmark and have enough strength to push it a little further.
